Banana Bread Recipe

I thought I had my banana bread recipe memorized, so I went ahead and made the bread. It turns out I didn't have the ingredients in the right proportions, but I think it turned out delicious!

Here is my new version of banana bread:

4 ripe bananas

1 cup sugar

1/3 cup oil

2 beaten eggs

pinch of salt

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. baking soda

1 1/2 cup flour

Mash the bananas with a fork then add sugar. After mixture is stirred, mix in the eggs and oil. Add pinch of salt, vanilla, and soda. Finally add the flour and only stir until it's mixed.

Makes one load. Bake at 350 for 45 min- 1 hour. (Ours was perfect after 50 minutes!!) YUM!!

Track Season

Track season was fun! Every meet I was in such a hurry to get the kids out the door that I forgot the camera. But here are a few pictures of Jeffrey practicing the high jump!

R.I.P.

We gave up on our dreams of kittens. With each passing day, it seemed like the kids' allergies were getting worse. Jeffrey and Malia's eyes were bloodshot and they both ended up with sinus infections. Wednesday night we decided to get rid of the kitties while they were still little to give them a better chance of finding a new home. So sad to see them go. They were so much fun to have around.

Jeffrey's Baptism

Jeffrey's baptism turned out to be a really special and unforgetabale day. He asked that his cousins, Zach and Nathan, give the opening and closing prayers. His Grandpa Hansen gave the talk on baptism and did a great job. Grandpa Mike spoke about the gift of the Holy Ghost. His talk included a big bowl of candy (now we all know where Mark gets this from!) Grandma Hansen lead the music and Grandma Cheryl was our photographer. We had the cousins sing, "I am a Child of God," while he was changing. They sounded really nice! I played a flute solo, "Sweet Hour of Prayer." I'm glad I chose a piece I am familiar with because when Mark and Jeffrey walked in they looked so handsome that I got distracted. I totally lost my place in the music and played from memory until I could find my place again.

Afterwards we had a buffet. Jeffrey wanted orange juice and ice cream sandwiches. We added donuts, pastries, milk, fruits platters, and big bowls of Cocoa Puffs and Fruit Loops. Yumm!

Family Circus

Today we went to my sister's church. Her adorable baby was blessed along with 3 others. After the first two Malia was getting antsy. I was trying to keep her quiet, "Look at that little baby girl!"

Her response, "Baby gils dink."
"Did you just say, 'baby girls stink?' "
"Yes mommy. Baby gils DINK."

So much for trying to keep her quiet.
A few minutes later was the sacrament. She was standing on the pew and waving her hands. "Kumon bread!"

After church, while pointing to herself, "This lil' gil pooped her pants again!"
