124 doses down, 76 more to go
Last Monday, Jeffrey went to bed at noon. He woke up the next morning complained that his throat was hurting and he had a fever. I took him to the doctor (a few of us had sore throats also and were tired) and sure enough, he had strep throat.
Since we are allergic to penicillin, we have fewer medication options. The one our doctor wanted to give us was $100 per person taken once a day for four days. One Hundred Dollars. Five Hundred Dollars for antibiotics! Since we are currently 'self-pay' I asked for something more budget friendly. So here we are Cephlaxin. Total= $53 but such an inconvenience- 4 times a day for 10 days! I'm trying to decide what type of treat I deserve when I'm done administering 200 doses!

Looking at Old Family Photos

Bottom row left to right: Glen, Gail, my dad, Richard
My Uncle Richard has posted lots of pictures on facebook. I love this one! My Aunt Gail always told me how much she LOVED my dad when she was growing up. She'd tell me how he played with her and how he was always kind to her. This is such a sweet picture of her holding onto his arm!
By the way, my grandma is in the middle of the back row.

Lily...

our new four-legged friend! She has done a super job at winning us all over- even Mark.
Mark promised Brooklynn last summer that if she did certain things, when she turned 8 she would get a dog. Fast forward a year: Brooklynn kept her end of the bargain, my aunt's dog had a litter of puppies, and we were dog less. My aunt drove Lily to us last weekend. Can you say, "One HAPPY girl!" I think Lily is just as happy.
She's adjusting well and is finally settled into a schedule: ball of energy morning and evening, cat-naps and plays during the day, sleeps all night. My main concern when she came home with us was house training. She's doing awesome. We're trying to bell train her, so we ring the bell every hour or so when we take her out to potty. She's started alerting us, not to use the potty, but because she wants to be outside...she loves the outside.
We've taken her to the canyon a few times. Her favorite is running through the stream and then rolling in the dirt. Hmm. She fits in with the rest of the kids! Only she's a little more work to keep her hair clean.
Malia keeps her pockets filled with various doggy treats these days. She says in her 3 year old voice, "Lily is a gorgeous dog!" Malia can't seem to shower enough attention on her. When Lily is done playing, she goes into her kennel for some alone time.
