Cattails

A few weeks ago we played in the cattails for our nature study. Today we went back and they were ready to 'pop'. The kids spent 2 hours collecting and popping the casings open. So fun!
My disclaimer: I didn't have my camera, so this picture I "borrowed" from the internet.

I tried to come up w/something to get the kids outside today, but we've had thunder showers for two days and are expecting two more days of storms...so unlike So Cal!

I hate forgetting our camera! But the internet is quite useful when it comes to an assortment of photos!

Em- That is so unlike So Cal! Maybe the weatherman will be wrong and you'll have a beautiful day! Hopefully you'll have some nice weather soon! Atleast you're not back east or in Omaha anymore, getting ready for a rough winter!

Rach-Your little family is soooooo cute. When you forget your camera, just repost pics of that baby of yours!! We LOVE seeing her smile!

Cattails are one of my kid's favorite "toys" in nature. They love to pick them and break them open. They love to wave them around scattering those fluffy seeds and such everywhere. I think when it is less stormy we will see if we can find any at one of parks nearby.
