Canyon's Team
Have you ever been to a small town parade with your brother who coached football for 8 years? Then as the new high school football team passes (and many of them were coached by your brother) on their float they pelt your section of the crowd with salt water taffy? Such was our Town Days Parade. The kids couldn't complain. They each ended up with a bowl FULL of candy.Monday, June 28, 2010

Crying Wolf
Malia has learned a couple phrases that immediately command our full attention:
"I go poop."
"I tired."
She now says them whenever I am in the middle of something (a shower, on the phone, reading with Jeffrey or Brooklynn, etc.).
Yesterday she decided to get Brooklynn in trouble. She kept telling me, "Bookin call me dinky farface." (Brooklynn called me a stinky fart face.)

Summer Break
Sunday night we announced that 'summer break' was starting- no school for a few weeks. Aahhhh. I don't know who is enjoying it more, me or the kids! We've been relaxing, swimming, hiking, playing, and just having a good time.
Here are a few pictures at the gym with Uncle Skylar and some cousins. He gave the kids a gymnastics overview. They had a great time!
Stretching- even Malia was trying
A little more stretching
My kids were impressed with Camilla's flexibility
Skylar doing a handstand demo
Learning moves on the balance beam

Flush Your Fines!
Our library is starting their summer reading program. One aspect of their program is going to the library and having them time you read. For every half an hour you can reduce library card fines by $1. AWE SOME! Any guesses where my kids are going to be this summer?

It's Great to be 8!

This year we decided to spend half of his birthday money on things we wanted to get him and gave him the other half to spend. We turned him loose in Target's toy section for a shopping spree. His purchases included Transformer's BumbleBee gear, Star Wars items, and some Pokemon cards. It was funny to see how reluctant he is to spend his own money, but if it's Mom and Dad's money, he'll spend it in a heart beat.
