Earth Day

To celebrate earth day we got together with our cousins.
We watched Wall-E and ate cake. Yummy! We found instructions for this "Earthday Cake" on the internet and had to give it a try!
It was good!

The kids were excited to be with their second cousins!

We stayed and played. Malia was delighted with all the attention!

Definitely a repeat event for next year. Maybe we'll through in an earthday service project too!

Easter Sugar Rush

Do you ever wish you could change the dates of holidays just because you want to? This year we called the Easter Bunny on his direct line and asked him to come a day late. Here are the kids on Monday:

We had a community Easter egg hunt Saturday. Brooklynn was lucky and won the raffle for an Easter basket.

Malia on her way to the hunt.
We also attended our city Easter egg hunt. It was packed, but the kids got TONS of candy! Can you believe the 2-3 year olds cleared this off in less than 2 minutes?
We made these cute nests of chocolate and M&M's to take around to our friends and family on Friday. Needless to say, by Saturday night we were all sugared out. Sunday we went sugar-free and the Easter Bunny obliged us and came for his visit Monday afternoon!

Deja Vu

Revisiting the winter months...
1. It's snowing this morning?!? End of April...what's up with that?
2. Noall (my brother-in-law) and Natalie (his sister and my friend from Omaha) stopped by for a visit on Monday. I was telling them how it's been an entire 6 WEEKS of good health around here. I should have knocked on some wood because that night Brooklynn's ears and throat started hurting. Tuesday morning Jeffrey and I woke up with sore throats. Now, we're waiting for the results from the 48 hour strep throat test.
Yes, it's an inside day today.
